And Miles To Go Before I Sleep (With Apologies To Robert Frost & The Bard)
When you're a real estate agent who works with buyers, you'll quickly tally up the miles on your car. While late October is supposed to be the "slow" time of the year in Warren County, it was anything but slow for us today. Three different buyers, 7 homes shown, and 140+ miles added to the car.
Condos, older homes, newer homes, it was all in the mix! Some of those homes have been on the market for months (and will probably be on the market for months more), others for just a couple of days and we won't be surprised to see them under contract by Monday. The best homes priced right STILL move fast even as the leaves finish their annual color change and hold a convention on our lawns covering the grass in a matter of a few hours!
Our job is to guide our clients, sometimes literally (follow me to the next house), sometimes with a gentle nudge about what a great value a particular home is (when we can truthfully say that) so they don't miss their opportunity at THE ONE.
So we drive paths scenic and not so scenic, looking for THE ONE for each and every buyer we're privileged to serve, in different cars over the years because those miles add up quickly, but sooner or later, we wind up in our own home's driveway, hoping that today was the day we helped someone find THE ONE for them.
And soon, to sleep, perchance to dream :)
