Like that old song that goes: The Rains came down
and the Floods Came Up
The Rains Came down
and the Floods Came Up
But the House on the Rock stood Firm.
Ever hear this song?
Lots of truth in that. This weekend in South Texas will be a test of this idea. Flash floods and high water everywhere you look. Hurricane Patricia, now downgraded to a tropical storm is the biggest culprit. There is a low pressure system coming down from the North. however, that adds to the deluge. When they met just north of Corpus Christi, the rains poured down. Lots of rain, more than we need in a short period of time and the forecasters say Houston will get even more than us.
The Dallas area was hit last night and as far south as Corsicana experienced severe weather and even a train derailment when the tracks actually washed away. Be careful on the roads. Don't go out if you don't have to. Stay home and write blogs like me!
A big pot of pinto beans and some cornbread, maybe a football game makes a day inside very nice. Don't drive through high water. "Turn around, don't drown."
