An Eclectic Saturday

By

Saturday was the type of day I enjoy the most, a balanced mix of work, fun, exercise, music and good food. How could that not be a great day?

The morning was spent at my computer, scheduling appointments and other tasks relating to a new listing. Bringing a property to market here is like choreographing a ballet--chaotic and time-consuming at first, but the joys of seeing it come together are exhilarating. Phone calls were made; emails sent and received, loose ends tied up.

By Noon it was time for my husband and I to head out. Our first stop was at Studio Gallery on Pacific Street where we eyed wonderful paintings, both large and small. Then on to Cheese Plus, to sample artisan foods from near and far--cheeses, herrings, chutneys and more.

Next, we hopped on a Muni bus which took us near AT&T Park, home of the SF Giants. Walking across the Third Street bridge, then heading south along the Bay Trail was an enjoyable walk in an area we rarely visit. I had a purpose: one of the measures on the city's ballot has to do with development in that area. I wanted to see first-hand exactly where the planned buildings might be erected and how that might affect access to the waterfront.

After hopping on the T-line trolley for a short way, we strolled around South Park, an historic area south of market which once was the fashionable area for homes. We continued walking to the Embarcadero, north under the Bay Bridge, to the Ferry Building, up Washington and Jackson streets through the Financial District, North Beach and Chinatown.

Once home, I spent an hour talking with a new potential buyers, getting disclosures, putting her in touch with one of my preferred lenders. (It felt good to sit for a bit!)

Then we were off again, walking to a performance of Volti, a premier choral group, and then a late night supper at nearby Tommy's Joynt, a San Francisco institution since 1947.

Lottie,

Love incorporating work and play.  We used to do that by stopping for lunch at the LA County Museum of Art and looking at the new exhibits, on our way to show listings near the museum.  A

I'm so glad I had all those activities on Saturday, Kathleen Daniels - it's been pretty much non-stop since yesterday afternoon when I met with a new potential buyer; I just submitted an offer for her, due today. So far, 6 offers have come in. Tough being a buyer.
