Ever get frustrated with your broker?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Abacus Properties Inc.

Before I started my own company, I worked with one of the big guys, for the purpose of this blog, I will call it the Rock. Mind you, since I have been in the business a long time, I usually just do my own thing. Once in a while, I run into problem or a question and I would need the manager's help. My manager would always diligently write my problem on his yellow legal pad and tell me he will get back to me. BUT HE NEVER DID! I ALWAYS HAD TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM MYSELF!

That was one of the reason I started Abacus(http://www.abacuspropertiesinc.com/), because I was frustrated at the Rock for getting so much of my commission and not helping me when I need them! Why am I paying them so much when they do not solve my transaction problems?

Now I am the broker, I make sure I go out of my way to help my agents when they come to me with a question or problem. I don't promise I know all the answers all the time, but if I don't know an answer, I will always find out for them and I ALWAYS GET BACK TO THEM WITH AN ANSWER!

Maybe you have frustrations you want to vent, let's hear it!

I noticed no comments yet...perhaps there's so much to say, that agents are worried their posts may leak to their broker. lol. I could fill a lot of your page, but I have to refrain. Good question though - anxious to see the posts you receive.

I think more agents should vent their frustration SO THAT their brokers will read them and learn from them. It is all about agent retention these days. If agents are not happy with their broker, they should tell them and give the brokers a chance to improve. Most of the time, agents just keep everything bottled up and finally just walk out on the brokers. Communication is key.
