A Day at the Ball Park

As I thinking about this post, I thought of Christina Williams...She was on vacation this weekend and was so looking forward to getting away to a place where the cell phone wouldn't ring, couldn't check email, and didn't have to worry about anything in regards to work.

It reminds me of something my Father-in-law is always stressing to me.  It is good to sometimes take some time away to just relax and energize.  Well, I didn't exactly get to relax today or get re-energized, but I did get to have a whole lot of fun!

My wife and I are in charge of our young adults ministry at our church which is for those between the ages of 18-39.  Today we had a spring picnic and softball game.  We had a great turnout of about 45-50 people, had some good food and a great time playing softball.  The weather was perfectly in the mid 70's with the sun shining bright.  The best part of the day though was the fact that my cell phone did not ring one time with business related material!  I was actually able to have a day off from work!

In closing, I just remind everyone how important it is to sometimes turn the phone off for a day, ignore the email, don't check the office voicemail, and to just enjoy life!  I leave you all with some pictures from today's event.

Way to go Jeremy. Nothing better than grilled food, kids and parents spending some quality time together and a little softball.

Those diamonds look real nice. Ours are finally drying out after all the rain and snow.

I'm ready for another vicodin for my finger.

It's good to have the freedom to be able to get away and enjoy the family for a day.  I seldom get away because I've got too many good folks depending on me for their business, but I surely do bring them to my house.

I know some very successful real estate folks who don't work on Sunday.  They put in a lot of hard work to get to that point though and that's the thing to remember.  If agents new to the business begin to treat their business like it's just a job with days off, they will not likely get to a place where they should be taking off.

Me?  I'm a workaholic but it's O.K. since I work from home.  But, it took me many years on the road to get to this point.

Carl, this is one of the great things about Myrtle Beach.  There are plenty of great fields to play on all around the area!

Lenn- I agree...It has taken me 6 years of hard work to get to the point where I can have off the time I do for things at church.  My father and I both still put in sometimes 12-14 hour days the rest of the week so we will have off Sunday Mornings for church or when we have an activity planned.

In this business you gotta do something in order to make something.  It doesn't just fall from the sky right into your lap.

Christina- Yeah, mini is a sweetie, she only weighs like 5 lbs.  I think she is about 4 months old now...
