Runyon Canyon Park is one of the more famous parks for day hiking. The views are magnificent, allowing you to see all of Los Angeles, the 'Hollywood' sign and miles of mountain ranges. This is a free park to check out and dog friendly too.
As you enter and exit, you are greeted with a snack stand. This stand is honor role only, allowing the community to purchase water, chips, dog cookies and other goodies.

Our last vacation to CA we never got as high as Los Angeles, and found so muvh to do in the San Diego area
That's great that the snakcs and drinks are on the honor roll system. It proves that some people can still be trusted. I love it. I would enjoy this hike on a cool day just to see the hollywood sign.
