A power outage may not only be an inconvenience but it can actually be a life saver. Without electricity, the ability keep foods safe, cook meals, stay warm or cool becomes a very real issue.

In Florida, having a generator is almost a necessity. Hurricanes and severe storms can easily knock down power lines and keep the power at bay for hours and even days. Weston luxury homes, Coral Gables luxury homes and others typically come with generators. If you are looking to buy a home or have one in the area, getting a generator is not only smart, it can actually save you big bucks. See this video from RISMedia on why generators are more than beneficial.

In Nova Scotia people go to great lengths to acquire and hook up generators. Often they will install separate feeds and have a  large switch to change over the panel to generator.  I have seen systems that work on propane worth upwards of $10,000 dollars put in. We can have big storms where the power takes up to a week to come back on.  Not to mention that that weeks storm might dump upwards of 1 or 2 feet of snow on whatever is already down.

Having a generator is considered a good selling point up here!
