My personal opinion on this is yes! Should we as RE agents have the knowledge to do CPR? YES!

I for one, think we should. We are not medical provider's, however, CPR save's lives. You don't need to be a BCLS provider, but, should you have CPR certification?

IMHO, I think so, I mean it is good for everyone to know. For your family, friends, customers.

I think, IMHO, that if you have a driver's license, CPR should be an addendum.

Why not save lives?

I mean if every person in the United States who has a valid driver's license, also learned how to save a life by learning CPR...wouldn't more families be happy, wouldn't more lives be saved?

Just my humble opinion...

What do you think???

10 Comments on CPR are you certified and should you be as a Realtor(R)?

Most people that are given drivers licenses (at least here in Jersey) aren't even qualified for driving. I wouldn't trust them to try and save a life, they'd probably kill the person. Nice idea though!

Gotcha! Then again. I have had a personal experience with a NJ person and I agree...Thanks!

Had my certification for many years.

Not sure why I haven't re-certified.

Thanks for the reminder.

Linda,

You just never know. We have people with us on a daily basis, and what would you so if this situation would arise?

Just a thought!

I really thing, if you have a driver's license, you should also have to have  CPR card...we should all know what to do, there is no excuse...

Ahhh, I see another blog in the future!

Karen, I agree with you, now especially now that the procedures have changed from the 15 to 2 ratio to just doing chest pumps.  Who knows the life that you save may be someone that you love!

I have taken the classes but it has been awhile. I need a refresher course!

Everyone  from Senior High School on should be taught in CPR.  As a former  CPR instructor and school  teacher,

I know that students are quite good at learning hands on things and are capable of remembering what needs to be done in emergencies.

Wow, this is actually a great idea. And also why not have then a law, that the participants in a collission not only shoudl not leave the accident site, but provide CPR for the injured party.

Kathleen,

Truthfully, I think all Realtors(R) should be required to have it. You just never know if you are going to have to try and save your next customer. If you are certified currently, they back you up.

Jon,

I think it should be part of our training.  After all, you never know the medical history of your next customer.  I also keep sugar (candy) and water, pretzels, etc. in my car for diabetics.  I guess it's my medical backgroup kicking in!

I dont know what you mean about this comment, And also why not have then a law, that the participants in a collission not only shoudl not leave the accident site, but provide CPR for the injured party. However, CPR should be renewed with the thought that, you never know even if a friend would be in need of help.  I have done CPR on a 29 yo and also a 32 yo, which is my point...You never know when you will save a friend. :-)
