My Cassia bush (more like a tree) blooms every October-November. I planted her because she attracts sulphur butterflies. They nectar and larval on cassia. You do know that specific butterflies nectar or larval on specific plants, right? For instance, Monarchs love Butterfly Bushes but won't go near a cassia. Sulphurs love everything but especially cassias. I wonder if that's why Sulphurs are yellow.
We bought this one when we moved to Timber Greens 8 years ago. And, the original plant cost $2.97 in it's 3 quart pot. It was maybe 4-5 inches high. Cassie (as we call her) has been cut down many times but always gives us a beautiful show.
This is only part of her; she has much more on the right but it was raining and I wanted to catch as much as I could. These are all over the place at Animal Kingdom Lodge - so pretty.
The blossoms even look like butterflies.
I love the color! Thank you, Ms. Cassie.
