BPO Agents Needed- Response to an Email Received

I felt it necessary to respond to an email, that I received from an agent in our market place regarding my intergrity.  Please read the original email at the bottom, and then my response directly below.  How do you feel about my response?

My Response:

I am not sure where you want to go with this conversation.  We are actively looking for experienced REO agents to Join our Team and work at GMAC.  You need to have extensive experience in doing BPOs.  I have looked at your listings and transaction history.  It appears that you are doing a great job in generating business from the banks already.  You may be a good fit for our team.  You might also benefit by bringing your REO business to GreatWest, as we will manage the bids, utilities, regular maintenance etc... Our accounting department will also cover your outgoing costs for these REO's.  We should speak further.  Our more experienced REO agents average a relatively consistent REO inventory of 10-20 listings per month.  Of course, this varies depending on our inventory levels from week to week.  Plus the REO business will not be around forever.  Our goal is to supplement our agent's income.  Company wide in 2007, we generated 40% of the agent's business.  Our goal is to generate 70% of the company GCI internally.  This is why the Management Team at GreatWest continues to develop other sources of revenue for our agents.  And you are quite wrong.  I am a bit offended that you would question my integrity without having the opportunity to speak with me.  Though, I will accept your earlier and advanced apology.  My Management Team has built a very successful company in a market that has been recently turned upside down   I would like to speak with you further.  If you choose please contact me directly for more information or feel free to unsubscribe from our emails.  Thank you for your response to our ad.

Original Email From Agent Responding to our Ad searching for BPO Agents:

Are you stating that GMAC would direct REO listings to me on a weekly basis if I were to move to your office? If not, would you guarantee REO listings would be assigned to me and how often? If you and your company are just trying get some agents to join and you can't promise any listings, then take me off your email list. I would not be affiliated with a company who's Executive VP would use these tactics to recruit. Where is the integrity at GMAC?  If I am wrong, please accept my apology.

Hi Brodie,

It's tough to provide you with an answer without seeing the ad you sent out as a soliciation. Care to share that one?

Brodie - it would be nice to know what ad/email he was first responding to because he seems to think you are promising him business.  Admittedly, your response says you are responsible for generating 40% of the agents business - so it somewhat implies that you do provide REO business.  On a side note - I think its great you handle the utility builling portion and outgoing costs for REO properties. Those are a huge hassle - and I only do a few.

I think you responded appropriately.  REO is a tough business and it sounds like you offer some great things for an agent that would like some support.  In my opinion he should be more cautious of a company that throws around guarantees, as no one can guarantee you business.  Also, I get emails on a daily basis for different brokerages, and they just get deleted, no need to read more into it than it is.  Maybe he just had a bad day :)
