St. James Parish | Louisiana Real Estate

St. James Parish is located about an hour away from the heart of Baton Rouge and the center of New Orleans, located somewhat between the two. This area became a parish in the early 1800s and was among the first parishes recognized in Louisiana. One of the most well known events/traditions from St. James is the Christmas Eve tradition of Bonfires on the Levee. This makes a beautiful scene as the bonfires light up the Mississippi River and is meant to "Guide Santa Clause."
