Weekend Wine Review Megahurtz Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

The Weekend Wine Review is a weekly series I will do on Monday’s featuring a wine tasted over the weekend. This past week I our local HEB had a Wine Case Sale of 20% off. I was chatting with the wine guy Tim, and he pointed to me to this wine. He said it normally sells for $45.00 but was on sale for 24.98, so with the case discount it was only $19.98! I bought 2 bottles since I did not know if I would like it. We loved it! It has a beautiful dark deep purple hue, with a long velvety taste with a very smooth finish. It has deep dark cherries with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. It comes from the Napa Valley. This is one of our favorite wines. The bad news I called and the guy told me the price had gone back to $45.00. So, I think I will wait for the next sale, I know this wine is hard to get so if you find it grab it!

By your description it sounded like a Napa Wine.  That is quite the discount you got on that wine.  I am going to have to see if our local place carries it. A

I love it when you find great wines that have been heavily discounted.  It's sad to see the price rise once again, but makes you enjoy the bargain just as well.

Yolanda, this wine tastes like a much more expoensive bottle than the $20 per bottle price we paid. Excellent wine and especially at this bargain level.

 Picture and the great news I stopped by the store just to see if the price had gone down. It was at 24.98 plus 20% off for a case so yes I got all 12 bottles of the Megahurtz none left oh well!
