I guess I've known this all along, but it just really hit me today.
When I get the Daily Drop and it offers links to posts, I know that when I click I really will go to that post - and the post really will offer information, insight, or even fun.
I think this is called honesty, and it is in complete contrast to the majority of links that come to my in-box each day. They promise information - then when you get there you either need to click again to get it, or it's only an advertisement for a seminar, book, etc.
Or... really disgusting for someone like me who is on satellite internet... you click on a post that offers "Ten ways to..." and find that you have to click to ten different pages to see those ten ways. No thanks - If the promise is compelling I might wait the one minute it takes to open one page, but I'm not waiting ten minutes to see ten pages that may or may not be interesting.
Actually, unless it's on Active Rain, I've quit clicking any links that offer six ways or ten methods or twelve cities, etc.
I've also quit following any links to health-related information. It won't be there - all I'll find is a long page telling me why I need the information and should spend $X to get it.
So - I love you Active Rain - and I love the bloggers who share their advice, their knowledge, their insight, their fun, and the events in their lives.
