The Village of Campton Hills.  Oh what a great sounding name.  If only the leaders would have listened to the people.  You see, a name can sound so serene, so peaceful and so pacifying.  But the behind the mask with the face of Cinderella lurks the evil witch set so strongly on her own agenda.

Campton Hills was incorporated when more than 50% of the voters who voted (not 50% of the residents in the Village) voted in favor of incorporating.  Let's say only 3 people voted on this out of 4,000.  Two voted in favor and one voted against.  Well, those in favor won and presto bango....we now have a new village from which all of the citizens must now bow to.

Having said that, the Village of Campton Hills exists.  However, the ivory tower is now not only showing some wear and tear, it seems to be crumbilng apart as all of the citizens who have been affected by this are now opting out of the village.  So.... what is happening here is that a myriad of educated citizens or groups have filed 26 petitions to leave the Village.

Of course the Village, stating that it wants to "serve" its citizens clearly objects to the petitions to remove themselves believing that they, in the ivory tower, know what's better for it's citizens than the actual citizens.  In support of that notion, the Chronicle quotes that officials testified that village finances would suffer too much if the land disconnected because Campton Hills relies on state-shared revenue based on population.  Let me gather my thoughts here...I thought that this was about the citizens, but it, perhaps, seems that the village really wants power and revenue.  The Chronicle, in quoting Colwell further stated that Judge Michael Colwell found that the village could seek a property tax to make up for the lost state revenue.  Hmmmmm....kind of makes you wonder.

As for me?  Well, I'm screwed.  I'm right in the heart of the this new Parliament.  The Queen and her henchmen are hell bent on keeping the band together.  I need a subdivision connected to a property connected to me to fall, then I need that connecting property owner to file their petition for an "early parole release" so that I can ask for my parole or pardon as well.  In the interim, here's what happens.

Everyone else who can't escape, needs to bear these mounting legal bills.  I have to pay for the frickin legal bills for something that I oppose, because big brother is so fat that it can't see his own toes.  THAT'S FAT!

What needs to happen is that the Village kronies need to go on "THE BIGGEST LOSER," lose weight, see their own toes (know that the citizens want out), quit wasting time and money, serve the people and let out those who don't want to be a part of their machine.

But with Obesity being the "disease" of the decade, I think that it'll be hard for these members to be able to choose to act accordingly.

Kevin....that may be a little to far in your analysis, but maybe it's not by much.  Thanks.

Kim...we have the majority of the residents (not the majority of those who voted) behind us.  We'll see.  Thanks.
