Being a landlord can be a frustrating and grueling experience. For instance, this week my husband went to court to have someone evicted. In the next row another lady was having someone evicted. It just so happened the girl being evicted had just called my husband about our vacancies. Guess that was her landlord reference. *sigh*
There is a lighter side to be being a landlord though. Here was the laugh of the day.
My husband uses only text when it comes to tenants. Here is a verbatim text:
Stacy: We are having some problems with the people who moved in behind us. We need a higher fence between the two houses. Not sure what you want us to do.
My Husband: What kind of problems?
Stacy: They have chickens and put out in the free ranging. And my dogs keep jumping the fence, we have never this problem before.
My Husband: Chickens? Can't say I've had this problem either. Somehow we need to keep your dogs from jumping the fence. Cant do much about chickens on their property.
Stacy: We can have a fence put up just don't know if we have the money
My husband: Get an estimate and maybe we can figure something out.
Stacy: Joe (her husband) is asking around now to see if anyone can get some fence cheap for us i will let u know before we do anything
My husband: K Every time I think I've seen it all. Learn I haven't. LOL Chickens!
Stacy:And they have goats.
My husband: No sheep?
Stacy: Not that I have seen lol
My husband: If you see pigs then we have a problem.
Stacy : K
Enter Joe: Has my wife been calling you about these stupid chickens?
My husband: Yes.
Joe: She is driving me crazy about these stupid chickens! I will try to find some pieces of fence to put up there.
My husband: OK
At one point it seemed like the dogs were chasing the chickens and the goats were chasing the dogs. We could not verify that, however.
