I need a little advice from anyone with experience with pet odors.  I have a home I just closed on that smells of cat or dog pee!  The carpets have been removed and I am down to the wood sub-floor.  I have sprayed with a pump sprayer straight germicidal bleach several times.   This really cut the hit you in the face smell and I suppose it is clean at least but still has an odor.  I can't proceed with new tile, carpet and the works just to have it all smell like Pee.   I then tried straight ammonia, (I know you are not supposed to mix the two but it had been about a week later).  I told myself today, monday, I would rip out the floor if I go over and smell pee.... and I did smell it today but am just gun shy to pull all the floors and go through that expense if I don't have to!   Does ANYONE have a good trick?  Any paintable odor sealer, a chemical I could try??

Please let me know what you think,  I need to move and get this finished.

Justin- I found this quite by accident as your profile says you have no Blog Posts.....did you poist this just to one Group?  Try re[osting it to several Groups...I see you're a member of several....and then you will have a better chance of getting a response.  I was interested enough to find you by a comment you made somewhere, so would like to be able to find you :)  If you need any help with navigating around here let me know......

Also you need some tags....this Post could be tagged odors, or pee problem :)

Wow Justin I suggest you ............   That is an answer I would expect but no one even cares to look or leave advise.  I think we may be dealing with a bunch of FLIP FAKERS in these groups!

Justin, the problem may be you're now looking in the wrong spot. Odors of longevity, like it sounds like you have, have probably also permeated the walls. You might find a few fresh coats of paint will knock it out, since you're already down to the subs.

Justin, I have also heard that the smell can permeate the drywall.  May have to remove the "pee zone" and patch it up.

Hi Justin,  Have you tried Kilz?  It has a very strong odor and covers up mold, ballpoint pen, almost anything.  You can get it in a spray can and paint on.
