Charlotte's Southern Christmas Show Begins November 11th

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty 179530

Charlotte's Southern Christmas Show November 2015Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte  returns this week on Wednesday, November 11th and runs through Sunday, November 22nd. This year, the Southern Christmas Show begins one day early in time for Veteran's Day. And to recognize Veteran's Day, USO North Carolina volunteers will be at the front entrance selling “I Support the Troops” stickers for $10 each. Anyone purchasing the stickers will receive a 10% discount on their purchases in select exhibit spaces displaying an “I Support the Troops”sign.

I look forward to this show every year... and, I know Christmas is literally "just around the corner" once the show arrives in Charlotte. The Southern Christmas Show has been coming to Charlotte for 48 years now. Attending this show is an annual tradition for many Charlotteans to "kick off" their holiday season, as it's become mine since I moved to Charlotte in 1998. More than 100,000 visitors begin their holiday buying season by attending the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte.

If you're looking for holiday decorating ideas, ornaments, gifts, art, crafts, food... with the Southern Christmas show featuring over 400 merchants and exhibitors displaying their wares, this is the place to go! You really will find something for every taste and budget. And I know I always find that one-of-a-kind gift I'm looking for, for someone special on my Christmas list. And one thing I love to do is wander from booth to booth tasting all of the great holiday goodies!

12 Days of Christmas Charlotte Christmas ShowThree tips to enhance your experience:

  • I like to arrive in time for opening for easier parking and smaller crowds. If you go on a Sunday, early in the morning is the best time to come before the post-brunch crowd arrives. Busloads of people come from all over the South to attend this show so be prepared for crowds.

  • Wear comfortable shoes--you'll be covering a lot of territory at the Expo.

  • Bring a tote bag or two (or three) to carry your purchases.

Sheila Anderson ~ I've found that the anticipation is often worse than the reality when it comes to medical procedures. (But then I'm a real chicken when it comes to pain.) Will be looking forward to hearing that you are "in the pink" soon, as they say.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel ~ I usually head out for opening on Sunday morning. That way, by the time the post church and post brunch crowds start arriving, I'm done and on my way home! But even then, it's a zoo!

George Souto ~ hi George, if this show doesn't get one into the holiday spirit, I don't what will. And you're right, it is one place to find that unusual gift for the hard-to-shop-for person.

Hi Nina-sounds like a great way to kick off the season and for a good cause. I am sure my little sister and my nephew will be there with a gaggle of old girlfriends from my high school days that all live in Charlotte now. Enjoy!

Good morning Nina.  Back in August my wife started buying Christmas.  With 19 people to uy for she gets started early to avoid the lines.  BTW I've already got her gift and it is stored safely away...  The spirit is already with us

James Dray ~ good morning, Joe... I pretty much do the same and shop throughout the year. A great way to avoid the crazy Christmas rush. And then I can do sales after Christmas.

It sounds awesome.  I'd probably be there too if I was in the area. I went to a couple local holiday Bazaars this year, but they sound pretty lame compared to this event.

Conrad Allen ~ good morning, Conrad. I learned early on you have to have a system to walk the halls and cover of all the exhibitors. I know I missed a bunch the first time I attended.

Larry Johnston ~ hi Larry, they call it the Charlotte Christmas Show, but it attracts people from all over the Southeast. Tons of chartered buses bring people from neighboring states.
