What I Left in Costa Rica

Costa Rica Shoreline

I finally did it! I took off on a vacation without my husband or any friends. I made the decision to take a chance and experience a spiritual women's retreat in beautiful Costa Rica. I would only know the woman running the retreat as someone I worked with over 30+ years ago. A true adventure was awaiting.

If you have never taken a true "spiritual retreat" vacation, I highly recommend it. I learned more about myself, more about my journey in life and a ton of pure acceptance and love from others. Very raw, very in-depth and extremely eye-opening.

CR FlowerThe best part of this experience was what I "left" in Costa Rica. What I chose to let go of, forgive and release was left behind. Choosing to rid yourself of the junk that fills all of us is something that will leave you feeling truly renewed.

Eating completely clean and healthy for 7 days along with great exercise, clean air and time to think was blissful! The other women I met were from all over the world and the U.S. Each one came for a different reason and each one left I believe, as a new woman.

I have never felt the amazing love and true acceptance that I did from these 30 other women. All were open, authentic and beautiful. My heart, my mind and my soul are forever transformed.

What is it that you are hanging on to? What do you need to let go of? What have you shoved deep inside that needs to be released? Perhaps you don't even know the inner baggage that is eating at your soul. Sculpture

This will certainly not be the first nor the last time that I take part in one of these retreats. I have been so inspired that I will be teaming up with Dr. Deb Kern to create another retreat as this is something that has been the desire of my heart for sometime. If you are feeling the pull, contact me for more information.

I left a lot of baggage in Costa Rica! It felt good and it was needed. What are you needing to leave behind?

I love Costa Rica and I would advise you to take a tour to see the country. Love the people, the rain forest, and the food.

Make sure you go to Arenal and go through the cloud forest and the rain forest around there is fabulous. We loved Quepos on the Pacific Coast which is not touristy.

Paula, Costa Rica sounds amazing, and I've heard many great things about its natural beauty.  And for any real estate professional, I'm guessing this retreat may have been more important than a lot of the continuing education we sit through!

Amen Patricia Kennedy, right on.  I wonder if I can write this off as a much needed mental holiday?

Paula so happy you made the choice to go on a retreat alone!  I have been on many over the years and they are some of the best weeks of my life. Costa Rica is a perfect spot for a spiritual retreat!

We don't have any sandy beaches or palm tree here Paula McDonald but a popular retreat here is a spiritual one with people taking a week at the Abby or Monastery with no phones, laptops or any other means of communication.

Good morning Paula.  I live each day to the fullest.  No one knows when their last day above ground will be.  Glad to hear you left all of your baggage on the beach.  I bet you came back a different person..

I can't even tell you how many things I would probably leave behind in Costa Rica. Not necessarily "baggage" but the busyness and mind cluttering daily routine. It would be a good reset for me.
