Miami Beach Veterans Day Parade and Parachute Demonstration:
During World War II, the beaches and hotels in the City of Miami Beach served as a home base for military troops. For more than 50 years, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion have organized a parade in the city to thank the troops for all that they’ve sacrificed in defense of freedom. Parade participation includes students, organizations, businesses, military groups and public officials.
The parade kicks off at 17th Street and Washington Avenue to 11th Street, then west on 11th to Meridan Avenue, then north to 14th Place, then onward to Flamingo Park’s baseball stadium, where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place.
Post-parade highlights include a parachute team landing, flyovers by U.S. Air Force planes, and Coast Guard and police helicopters;
