Wow, what a pickle I am in. The industry changes and right now it's killing me. My broker has decided she no longer wants to do Real Estate. I have been with her company for three years and have basically built it up for her... it's just me and her. I have a lot of inventory and am in the middle of several negotiations and obtaining new listings. It cost me a lot to work there for reasons I sure don't want to mention in a public forum out of mutual respect. Now, I have to change my license and this time I am going to be selective about where I decide to do so. I think I will interview them rather than they interview me. I want to make sure there is chemistry before I put in time and then realize I don't fit in. I don't want to go somewhere that will want to shut down in three years after I have put in my blood and sweat to succeed in my business plan. I don't want to own a Real Estate company. I don't want drama! Can that be avoided? I have a lot to think about today. I need to do what is best not only for my current clients, but my family as well. I live in small town in the turtles tail of the Big Island. Perhaps I need to spread my wings a bit. Please wish me luck with this. Anyone in Hawaii ( big island ) who knows a great, honest place to work please forward me the information. I am an honest, hardworking guy with a passion for Hawaii and Real Estate looking for the same in my co workers.

I wish you the best.  Moving to a new broker can definitely be challenging,  But in the long run, you may end up better off.

Just look at this as an opportunity. I am sure you have a great one here. Sounds like your work ethics and values will only take you to the next level. Take from this experience all the good and leave behind and/or learn from the bad. Did I cover it all?  :) I know it can't be easy, but you seem like the type of person that will do well regardless. Best of luck in your new adventure.

Patrick. I agree with you. I would call and make some appointments with some brokers. Then do a background on them. Good luck, Royal..

Thanks, everyone. I don't intend to look back, only ahead. I have made some calls already, have a couple interviews set up. I can't hesitate, it's not fair to my clients. I just hope for a smooth transition without any bumps along the way. Just keep going like I do and hope I make a good decision this time.

Good luck - I know it's hard.  I've considered changing brokers a few times but never have. The grass is always greener on the other side.  In your case, you don't have a choice.  Just don't settle for the pie in the sky promises.  And be careful what you sign - no offense to brokers.  Many will require a multiple year committment.

Patrick, such a shame after you've worked so hard to get your business growing.  Keep up the good attitude, and your base should follow you wherever you go.  Good luck to you and by all means, Interview them....don't let them interview you.  Get your questions all lined up and fire away.

Thanks, Bo. I think I will get one of those multi year committments myself. I am the only pie in the sky that I can count on. So, I will keep my expectations low and my hopes high.
