My grandson, Adrian, played in a baseball tournament last weekend in Pocahontas. We won the tournament and all the boys played great! Pocahontas has had serious flooding and the water is still very high, it did not affect the ball park, it was on higher ground.
While eating breakfast at our motel, I became acquainted with a lady that had been staying at the motel for over a month! Her home, which she had remodeled about four years ago, is still underwater. She lives in a two story home, built very high off the ground, the water is almost to the second level. She has lost everything on the first floor. She said she had pictures and beautiful antiques that could never be replaces. I felt so sorry for her.
This was a remarkable lady, she had a very good attitude. She did say that they were having a terrible time with looting. It seems like thieves in motor boats are breaking into homes. What kind of people would do that? Stealing is bad enough, without taking advantage of someone who is already hurting. I think there should be extreme punishment for those who are caught!
I was also talking with a guy from McCory, and he said the same thing. They have a lot of flooding and people are looting the homes. That is so hard to imagine.
I hope the rain is over and everyone can get their lives back. You know, we never know what is going to happen in our lives from one minute to the next!!

Our state has really been hurt with all the flooding. Our little Georgetown community is surrounded with water and it is raining now! Scary!
