You don't have to be inspired by Earth Day to make sustainable marketing choices! In fact, you can market yourself and your real estate business in several eco-friendly ways all year long! Here are 12 quick tips to get you started:

(1)   Start a real estate blog. Market your expertise, highlight listings, and develop a community online.

(2)   Send eNewsletters to your sphere with market updates, community and neighborhood info, etc.

(3)   Use recycled paper for print marketing.

(4)   Reuse paper in your office. Consider adding a recycle bin next to your office printer and reuse paper for   your own use (comps, prospecting, etc.).

(5)   Avoid printing large quantities of collateral that goes out of date frequently.

(6)    Send thank-yous via email or flash animated eCards.

(7)    Laminate open house signs (remove shoes, turn off lights, etc.) so they can be reused time and again.

(8)    Utilize social networks to share your message, brand, blog articles, etc. (ActiveRain, RealTown, Zolve, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

(9)    Become a paperless mobile agent with VREO Dashboard. Consider the referrals you can potentially obtain by providing great paperless service to your environmentally conscious clients.

(10)   Refill ink cartridges. Just bring them to your local office supply store and they will refill them for you!

(11)   Become an EcoBroker.

(12)  Marketing your listings online with MyMarketWare! Create a Website dedicated to your listing and syndicate to Trulia, Google, Yahoo, Propsmart, Oodle, Craiglist and more!

A few ideas for an Eco-Friendly Office:

(1)    Recycle old computers, mobile phones, printers, etc. Click here to learn more.

(2)    Use a water service that will refill a large water jug vs. buying bulk water bottles.

Nicole.....great tip on growing your business and doing it green.  When I joined Windermere almost two year ago my broker told me to gather email address's.  Now I have an email blast to about 500 that provides something of value and goes out 2 x 3 times a month.  Looking forward to implementing  some of your ideas too!

Great stuff!  I know another one! Hire a Virtual Assistant, who can take care of all your tasks virtually, and not take up office space and waste gas driving to the office!

Hi there Nik Nik, I went green personally first... I'm living in a tiny log home and loving it.  Makes for a tiny footprint and energy bill, etc.  Appreciate the links you provided.  Thank you.

I started reading your blog because I thought it was a pretty picture and wanted to get my comments in for the day but then I read more of your blogs and found some great information about several tech tools that I have not yet heard about and would like to use myself.  I just tried Jott the other day and have started incorporating it into my daily routine.  I was going to let you know about it....but there it was in your blog already.  So now I am going to sign up for your blog to see if you can help me with any other great tips.  Thanks
