 The Holidays have snuck up on me I think because I am not cooking this year except a pie so no planning or fuss kinda like it!

Hi Roy Kelley ,  That Turkey sure looks tasty.  We are going to my daughter's for Thanksgiving, so this weekend, we will make our own turkey, so we get to eat leftovers for a few days.

I'm tempted to peek at those Pinterest turkey recipes, Roy.  But, my family won't allow me to mess with my existing method of cooking the bird.

I forgot to post my turkey recipe.  I have a way of cooking a turkey that keeps it moist - especially the white meat.

I stuff the bird with orange slices.  I rub butter all over the outside, and brush on apricot syrup.  I toss it into a 400 degree oven uncovered for the first hour. Then I reduce heat to 275, and tent it with foil for the remainder of cooking time.  The higher heat in the beginning helps seal in the juices.  Also those orange slices inside the turkey steam moisture into the meat.  You will need to use a themometer to gauge when the bird is done, as your average cooking chart based on weight and time won't be as reliable.
