Never spend your money before you have it. ~Thomas Jefferson

What are some money wasters?  Bottled water is a big one.  Some say cable TV because you can watch TV via an internet connection, but where I live there is no cable.  And.... internet service is measured.

Another big money grabber is fast food.  I remember Meryl Streep saying expensive clothes are a waste of money.  One of my clients refuses to purchase already cut up fruits and veggies at the grocery store or any pre-packaged meals for her kid's lunches.

What are you big money wasters and how did you stop the drain?

I turned off my home phone, I keep my tires properly inflated on my car, I wear a sweater instead of turn up the heat and I turn on a fan in summer.  I use blackout curtains, And oddly enough I keep extra ice in my freezer.  I use 2 liter plastic bottles and fill them with filtered water. Having the ice in the freezer helps it stay colder and run less and in a weather event  that causes us to loose power gives a longer life to things in the freezer.  We also take those bottles with us if we travel and it's the ice for our cooler and the water we drink as it melts.
