Tickets for the Detroit Zoo’s Wild Lights, a display of 5 million LED lights on trees and buildings and forming animal sculptures. Are now available. This is a super popular event and frequently sells out so get your tickets in advance. The lies can be long getting in it is recommended to get there about 30 minutes early.
The event display starts Friday, Nov. 20, and continues for 24 nights through Dec. 31. On select nights, Wild Lights also features live entertainment, arts and crafts, ice carving and an exhibit featuring the work of Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Playing at the zoo’s 4-D theater during Wild Lights are “Polar Express, the 4-D Experience” “Ice Age-the during Wild Lights!Ride” and the Polar Plunge slide show. Carousel rides and photos with Santa Claus will be available for purchase.

The Polar Plunge, a 22-foot-tall, 150-foot-long slide. Purchase single rides for $3, an all-you-can-ride pass for $12 (same night only), or include it in your Polar Package. Solo riders must be at least 36 inches tall; children 2 years old and older and less than 36 inches tall may ride with their responsible adult. Don’t miss the Polar Plunge.
