Real Estate Market Report for Austin TX October 2015
Wow, according to the Austin Board of Realtors® report that came out November 19, 2015, Austin single-family homes increased year-over-year for the fifth consecutive month in October 2105.
An agent in our Coldwell Banker United NW office, Barb Cooper, 2015 President of the Austin Board of Realtors® explained “We’re on pace for another record year and while homes sales typically slow each fall, housing demand has remained strong far past the typical selling season. This demand stems from strong employment and our area’s high growth rate – factors that help create a stable housing market.”
New listings remained unchanged year-over-year and active listings increased by 3% compared to October 2014. Buyers have been waiting for new listings so many of these new active listings are receiving offers which are evidenced n the 4 % rise in pending sales for October 2015.
Monthly housing inventory is standing at 2.6 months which is less than half of what the Real Estate Center at Texas A & M University considers a balanced inventory level of approximately 6.5 months.
