Your funniest showing story! I want to hear it.

I know this has probably been done before but I wasn't a member then.  If you link a previous blog I will read it.  I want to hear the funniest/embarrassing/scary showing stories.

Picture this- My first listing, my first showing, a first time home buyer.  When I took the listing I knew they had birds.  I wasn't scared of them but didn't have any experience dealing with them either.  The buyer called me because of my yard sign.  I asked the sellers to leave while I showed the home.  The buyer and I got all the way through it but right before I opened the door to leave I was attacked by two birds.  They didn't really hurt me.  They squawked and danced in my hair.  It certainly scared me though!

So let's hear some good ones.

Oh now that is a good one! I was showing a house once and locked both the client and I in the backyard. Same thing tall fence with lock on gate everything. I did the same broke the window pane. That is a costly showing for sure.

Not to turn this into a negative blog but the sellers were upset with me.  They thought it devalued their home.  Well yes, for a couple of days!  No appreciation for me not letting the house burn down.  I may have started it but hey "Gimme a break."  You took your chances when hiring a blonde!

Okay now let's not get nasty. We get enough of those "dumb blonde" jokes. Surely that isn't the reason you and I are coming up with the most stories.

I am going to have to think about this one...I am sure I've seen it all.  Okay, not ALL of it but...

Hmmm...how about my buyers agent locking up after a successful showing only to find the bomb squad in the front yard?  I'm going to let her tell that one--she tells the best stories and she really has seen it all.

I'm telling you, Debi is better at telling the story than I am.  What I recall is that she was showing a house to a buyer, walked out the front door and the bomb squad was all over the place checking out the neighbor's house.  The way Debi tells it is hysterical.

I am only good at telling my own stories.

You did just fine. Convince Debi to tell the story on Melody's blog. Everyone is so curious about this one. This may be the prize winner.

Debi is out trying to confirm whether or not the house she is supposed to close on tomorrow still exists.  Looks like we had a tarnada around here last night...YIKES!

Might make for a good showing story...although I hope not.

Melody - I showed up at was listed and told to me by the listing agent as a VACANT home.  I have a habit of always ringing the doorbell, then opening the lock box, then opening the door and saying hello (LOUDLY).  We were in the vacant home for about 2 minutes when we saw someone looking out through a cracked door upstairs.  It was the sellers who were up stairs... well you know.  They were completely freaked out, we were really uncomfortable and exited quickly.  I will never understand that one last fling...

I laugh about it to this day...
