At my house, getting a great Thanksgiving dinner on the table is a 3 day process. There’s a day devoted to chopping things up that will be needed in the various recipes, and the making of the Cranberry Sauce. Add to it, the baking of pies, and getting the table set and the house in order for my large family.
My family has always accused me of over-cooking on holidays. And, this Thanksgiving isn’t likely to be any different. I realize they may have a point.
I had to laugh when a news report, said the average Thanksgiving meal for a family of ten would be approximately $49.00 or so this year. Who are they kidding? I’ve had numerous trips to the grocery store, and I’m tallying up more than $300.00. It isn’t the turkey and the ham that adds up. It’s all those little extras. And, of course, the wine!
I’m hitting the sack early this evening but don’t want to do so without first wishing all of you and your loved ones, a Very Happy Thanksgiving!
