Master-Planned Community of Newhall Ranch on Hold

The proposed Master-Plan Community of Newhall Ranch is a Brand New community being proposed by former Valencia, Ca. builder Newhall Land and Farm and current Owner Lennar Corporation. Their EIR Plans were approved in 2010. There is a new challenge and the review of the EIR and the project is being delayed. Fear is that it may now take until 2020 for final approval. Opponents of the project must be rejoicing. The impact of this new community could adversely affect traffic in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Santa Clarita Valley was land locked during the 1994 earthquake due to the closure of the 5 Freeway at the 14 Freeway due to the bridge collapse.

threespine stickleback, an endangered freshwater fish --- the plan proposes to "move them" Relocating eggs has been sucessful in establishing a small population in a creek in San Diego. Tough battle as developers don't see the impact of making a two in fish extinct. - They eat snails, worms, bugs etc and live about a year. I wonder if there is some way to maintain the creek, keep it raw natural and clean that would allow this little fish to survive and have a feature that is desireable to a community?
