HAVING A PLAN
I find it useful to brainstorm and commit to a drawing board everything associated with what is needed or wanted to be done. I simply write down everything that comes to mind whether relevant or not as quick as I can until I am not able to do so anymore. Then, the next process kicks in...
EVALUATION
I then start crossing out all that does not make sense or apply to the focus or core of the idea thus making the way or plan narrow itself into my view. I may even add some dynamics as I am eliminate others. After a few short moments, the scribble before you is the rough and from there, some sense emerges to be assessed and acted upon
EARLY MAN
They have cave drawings that go way back depicting early man assessing his surroundings. They involve shelter, water source, weather and food along with how to access it so that a community may thrive. After staring at the drawings for either motivation or clarity, one grabs a spear and off they go putting legs on it all. This system is still here today
MANY WAYS TO SUCCEED
Newton did this with gravity. Sitting under a tree, making notes and then experimenting in the field took him to his gravity conclusion. Poets do it with reflection and engineers like to see a rough working sketch of the project mindset to bring it closer to a reality and then function. All of us can do this!
