I have changed. I used to love the holiday shopping, and getting presents was really neat. Today I still love the holidays but the shopping is no longer a part of that for me. Recently, I have discovered the best things that come my way have to do with people and animals. Time is precious and I value it more and more. Someone who spends time with me is absolutely more valuable than anything they could give me. Animals have nothing to give but themselves and whatever time they have. I have changed.
Hello Sheila Anderson
My husband and I agree with you, my friend. Very few presents as most of our family and friends all support giving to charities than to each other.

Thank you Lisa. I appreciate that and do that too. Enjoy the holidays. Sheila
Good morning Sheila. Time is what we all have in common. We are only given so many seconds on this planet. How we use them is up to us. I savior each and every moment that has been given to me. My only regret is how many of those moments I have wasted. Good post Ms. Sheila Thanks

Good morning Sheila. At least you recognize that you have changed, so never do and continue to fight the same old battles.

Good morning Sheila Anderson,
The memory making times with our friends and families are worth more than any gifts we could possibly receive! Thanks for your reflections on the holiday season and what they mean to you.

I agree with you that the greatest gift is time spent with someone. Time is precious and should be treasured. As for my shopping....
I send my parents a gift. I get a gift for each of my children. It's the grandbabies that most of my shopping is centered around. All of my shopping was done this year online....so much easier.

This also means, rather than shopping for someone to give them something they already have, don't need, will soon trash away.....sometimes the gift someone most appreciates is you and your time with them.
I've found, many times, that's a win/win, for the giver and the recipient.

Good Monday morning Sheila Anderson -
Your words ring so true in my own life. The best gift my Dad ever gave me was his time. Now those times are the most treasured in my heart.

Hello Sharon. I shop during the year but now I will simply give things I find (generally while travelling) to those I care about or think of when I get them. TY Sheila

Reminds me of the old saying "It's the thought that counts" Sheila Anderson . Sometimes, it's the presence, not the present.
