San Jose Dance Theatre's 50th Anniversary of the Nutcracker Ballet
by REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Who doesn't enjoy a magical Christmastime production of the Nutcracker Ballet?
Our family's enjoyed this particular production for several of the last 47 years. This year saw the 50th anniversary of this lovely production.
When I took ballet as a young girl, the ballet school I studied at was the Los Gatos Academy of Dance run by Shawn Stuart and Paul Curtiss (which later became the San Jose Dance Theatre). Everyone was welcome to audition, and even now the auditions are open to students from other schools.
With my own two personal sugar plums, I enjoyed hearing the live Cambrian Symphony orchestra playing the delightful music and seeing the performers dance their hearts out at the Center of Performing Arts in downtown San Jose.
The San Jose Dance Theatre's production of the Nutcracker is always held the first weekend of December at the Center of Performing Arts.
