I love my town and I took a lot of pictures at the weekend festivities. Stockbridge Massachusetts is the home of Norman Rockwell and looks essentially as it did 50, or even 100 years ago. The small town is real. We get no mail delivery or trash pic up. You meet your neighbors at the post office or at the dump.
Once you get used to it: it really is nice. The buildings are largely older and the illustations Rockwell used on magazine covers were real people from town he sketched of his neighbors. In our Town Hall there are photographs of the real folks next to the published prints most of us recognize.
On Sunday, Main Street was closed and old cars, jugglers, carolers, Santa and the High School Band presided. There were horse pulled wagons and all the local shops were busy. The decorations everywhere are very special. An old fashioned Chritmas in an old fashioned town.
