Terramar Beach in Carlsbad in Late Fall
The beaches in Carlsbad are beautiful at any time of the year, IMO.
Terramar Beach in central Carlsbad just south of the power plant is a particularly beautiful, and somewhat remote beach. It's particularly nice at this time of year, even though it can get pretty chilly, since there often is no one there.
The bluffs are the most dramatic along our Carlsbad coast and great for photos. And some of the most expensive Carlsbad real estate sits atop the bluff to the north.
I was there the other day to see what the beach looked like given what was happening further north with the erosion at Carlsbad State Beach. The beach level has definitely dropped since I was there last and they've added river rocks to try to minimize the erosion.
My wife and I have a special fondness for Terramar Beach given our younger daughter was married there 3 years ago. While it's changed quite a bit since then, it remains my favorite to visit at any time of year.
