This past Tuesday morning, immediately upon awakening I heard these words forcefully displayed in my mind’s eye, ‘Without Me you can do nothing’...a Scripture Passage from John Chapter 15 I came to find out...
SO.......Like a sensible Christian male, I proceeded to do my spiritual due diligence and further research and finally came up with the
following:
There are only three Chapters in the entire four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, where EVERY WORD of the chapter is
attributed to JESUS...Matthew Chapters 6 and 25, and John Chapter 15...This Chapter 15 contains probably the BEST SCRIPTURE verses to “EXPLAIN’ THE TRINITY...and of course includes the words in THE TITLE to this post...’Without Me you can do nothing’...
The Father is THE VINEDRESSER, THE PRUNER; JESUS IS THE TRUE VINE; THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE ADVOCATE, THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH...THE WAY THE FATHER AND SON COMMUNICATE with OTHER CHRISTIANS THROUGH THE GENERATIONS (we are the branches)...REVELATION...
This Chapter reminded me of a simple but profound teaching that I learned in the first or second grade from what we referred to as ‘THE BALTIMORE CATECHISM’...WHY DID GOD MAKE ME?...GOD MADE ME TO KNOW HIM, TO LOVE HIM, AND TO SERVE HIM, IN THIS WORLD, AND TO BE HAPPY WITH HIM FOREVER IN THE NEXT...!!!
JOHN CHAPTER 15 explains as clearly as you can understand THE TRINITY AND WHY WE ARE HERE...!!!
AND SO...If you’re looking for THE JOB DESCRIPTION of every Christian...It is this: GO OUT TO ALL THE WORLD AND TELL THE GOOD NEWS, REMEMBERING THE WORDS OF OUR LORD JESUS: WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING...!!!
