Your post made me chuckle - it brought back memories, which are thankfully in the past, about buying snow shovels in New England. And ice scrapers. And snow melt. And... I was thrilled to leave mine behind for the new homeowner when we moved to SoCal!

Happy Holidays!

Jeff

Hi Bob, I also enjoyed reading this post, we have hardly had snow so far this year. I know it is coming.

I'm sure we will too Noah Seidenberg  and after making the video I realized I forgot to show off my 30' roof rake.

Bob "RealMan" Timm Reading your post reminded me how nice it is not to have snow shovels, ice melt, scrapers, roof rakes, snow blowers and snow shoes.

I really love Latin America.

Awesome job on your video, Bob. I never knew there were so many different types and styles of snow shovels. Fortunately for me, I've never owned one. If it should happen to snow here, everyone stays home. We get a snow day!

Thanks for coming over and helping me out Pat Starnes ! As far as the shovels go I forgot to show off my 30' roof shovel. If we get a big snow I may have to do a video on just that as it is kind of cool to see. Congrats on making the 200,000 plus tonight!

There are so many and until you shovel a lot of snow you will not know which one is best for you

My son Nicholas Crane buys a lot of these every year, seems renters never seem to have one so he supplies a lot of them.

If I leave one at a rental Bob Crane it's usually a big old back breaker I can't wait to get rid of.

Hey Bob,

Enjoyed your video.  The snow shovel I like the most is the gas powered 28-inch snowblower; the teenagers have to use the shovels to clean up aound the edges.  We do carry smaller, telescoping avalanche shovels in the cars in case we get stuck.

I agree Gretchen & Mel Ahrens that nothing beats a good snowblower. I was limiting the post to shovels and wondered if I should even show the electric shovel but I figured that being they call them a shovel I'd go with it. Maybe my next post will be my 3 snowblowers.

Hi Bob -- your post makes me ask "Who knew?" .    I would never have thought that there could be a video on the different types of shovels --- nicely done and well-presented.

As for me, I'm more than glad that I don't need to be in the expert in this field.

Michael Jacobs I was thinking about what would be a topic so basic to Northern life that most of us natives would think about yet someone moving here from the South would be clueless about and this is what I came up with. Thanks for the compliment on the video.

That photo looks just like you trespassed into my garage to take it.  You're wasting your money if you chose the big tall yellow one in the middle.  Fantastic design.  Makes shoveling easy and fun.  Then, the aluminum edge that's atached to the yellow plastic falls off before you finish it's first use.

It's got to be a quality shovel to survive North Dakota ANTHONY DI IORIO . The bulk of my collection has come from shovels renters left behind so you may see some modifications on them.

In case you're wondering, there was a picture of a variety of shovels on the page when I first arrived.  I realized there was a video afterwards and when I returned to the top of the page,  I don't know where that picture disappeared to.  I'm not crazy, I promise.  Ahh!  It was the Click here link.  That's where it's hiding!

I had a heck of a time making this post ANTHONY DI IORIO . I must have put it up 6 times before it stuck. Here is a tip: When using a .giff file you never know if the post will function properly. If you switch font sizes and colors you never know if the post will come up. Mix these three things and you are going to have trouble getting that post to show up the way you want FOR SURE.

Hi Bob "RealMan" Timm , I have 3 different kinds of snow shovels here in northern Indiana, plus a snowthrower that I need to replace the rubber blades, since I wore them out last year.

What a difference a year makes Larry Johnston . I bet you have not even had to pull the snowthrower out of storage yet.
