The Parallels of Life and a Real Estate Purchase
There is much angst that transpires while working through the real estate transaction. The stress of waiting for the seller to accept the contract and hopefully not reject our terms.
Then there's the inspections which we so hope will go through with no surprises and if there are issues that they can be worked through favorably for all.
Then there's the period of time, I call the dark days, while the underwriters do their thing and on occasion crack open the entrance to their caves and ask for additional information, only to hunker back down to complete their tasks.
All of this leading to the anticipated day when we get the news, yes it is a go, or no you do not qualify and then the feelings are shattered maybe even resolved to not do it again.
Or in a life situation, you are told you may have issues and testing must be done. Prodding, poking, analysis, more poking, and the stress as the process began with, there is a problem.
After weeks of anticipation, that door opens, and the papers are shuffled while you anxiously await the towards, knowing that the possibilities exist of trying times ahead.
Then the words are spoken: it's benign. It's the weight of the world taken off your shoulders and for the first time in weeks a genuine smile of joy. Merry Christmas you think, yes it is.
After hearing those words this morning, I know I will have a lot more sympathy for my clients in the future.
