Don’t Put Holiday Safety on the Backburner
Okay we’re not that dumb I hope, but often times we get so wrapped up in the spirit of Christmas Holidays we forget about simple safety when it comes to postings on the Internet.
Posting on our social media sites holiday itinerary can invite burglars to our homes for free eats, shopping and who knows what else.
If you’re going away for the holidays don’t blog about it until you have returned from your trip.
Out of Town:
When traveling asks your neighbors to watch your home and pets; don’t forget to let your postal service know you’re out of town or have your neighbor pick up your mail and papers.
Burglar Deterrent:
A simple deterrent to burglars is leaving TV or Radio turned on and put lights on timers at various times of the day/night.
Simple lock-check of windows and doors are all locked before heading out of town and a great idea to unhook water lines to washing machine especially if you live in areas prone to freezing.
Always be on Guard
When you’re not aware of deliveries but there is someone at the door be on guard of criminals posing as delivery persons might be trying to scam you or case homes for a later burglary.
Don’t Put Holiday Safety on the Backburner sounds simple enough but many homeowners will be burglarized or scammed during the holiday season.
