Surterre Properties is the first green residential brokerage in Coastal Orange County.  Surterre is also an EcoBroker affiliate and I am the first EcoBroker agent at the company.  We run some beautiful ads and I thought our Happy Earth Day ad that ran in the local paper was pretty enough to post.  So, here is wishing you all a Happy Earth Day!

Just curious, what does it mean to be a green broker or EcoBroker affiliate?

Hi Susan -

As a green broker, Surterre Properties is committed to preserving the natural environment around us by encorporating and promoting sustainability and greener choices as we conduct our real estate business.  For Surterre, this means that our office design and materials have been choosen with sustainability in mind, that all our marketing materials are printed on recycled papers, that we have a network of green vendors to assist our clients in order for them to have the "greenest" move possible, and that we organize events such as the quarterly eWaste drive which benefit organizations such as Earth Resource Foundation.  These are just a few of the ways that Surterre focuses on being a green brokerage.  In addition, Surterre, and myself, are affiliated with the EcoBroker program.  As the EcoBroker website states, "EcoBroker is the program designed to help communities, across the United States and internationally, take advantage of and encourage energy efficiency and sustainable design in real estate properties. Through EcoBroker educational courses, real estate professionals acquire the knowledge and resources to become Certified EcoBrokers(R) and assist clients in their pursuit of properties with green features and marketing of properties with green features. The Company serves real estate professionals, vendors, and the community by carrying out its mission to improve the quality of buildings, while reducing their impact on our natural resources and environment."  I hope this helps to answer your question!

Most impressive!!  That is really very inspiring.  I am always saying how I wished that we would recycle at our office.  You guys go way above and beyond!!  I definitely think this is something that my broker should see and consider.  Thank you!!  Best, SM
