A Merry Christmas To You!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Marte Cliff Copywriting

Christmas here on Blue Lake Road has been put on hold for the moment. Our son is a power lineman, and that means he's working - either a 40 hour shift or until power is restored to Avista customers in the area. (after 40 hours, they get 6 hours off, then start 18 hour shifts.)

Either way, Christmas Eve dinner and opening presents in the morning isn't going to happen. There are Christmas ornamentsimply too many "powerless" people right now for us to expect to see him tonight. If we get really, really lucky, he'll be back for dinner tomorrow.  The weather report says this snow is supposed to slack off, so perhaps all the trees that were going to fall over power lines have already done it?

If not... whenever he's finished will be Christmas for us.

Meanwhile... I bring you a repeat from last year: a link to a heartwarming Christmas Story that my Mom wrote for my kids when they were small.

I hope you enjoy The Christmas Tree.

Merry Christmas to all... !

Evelyn Johnston I have her "Pixie" stories - about a stuffed doll who comes to life, but only in front of his boy and the dog. One of these days I'll pull them together and do something with them. Merry Christmas!

Ryan Huggins - Thousand Oaks, CA Thanks - I wish the same to you and yours!

Kathy Streib They do work hard - and long. This will be the 3rd or 4th Christmas we've postponed because he was on a storm job. But since it wouldn't be much fun without him... we're willing to wait.

Yes Bob Crane. For the past few days it's been getting whiter by the minute. Now it's supposted to stop snowing and get cold. A whole lot of people who depend upon electricity are hoping they get those lines repaired really, really fast. From the few people I've talked with at power companies it sounds like this morning there were about 15,000 out.

I didn't get to ask Chad how many crews were working on this.

Our power went out briefly this morning, then again for about an hour and a half late this afternoon. The folks on our road were lucky. We don't worry much because we have a good generator that runs almost the whole house.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Patricia Kennedy Thank you - I wish you a wonderful year as well.

As for my son - he brings "Power to the People" and he "Re-energizes" them when they run out.

He just called - just about to crash in a motel after a 37 hour shift. Thank goodness! I have no idea how all those men survive working that many hours without sleep.
