Please remove all lights, decorations, tinsel, tree stands and non organic material before recycling.

Carroll County

Drop-off locations

Carroll County Resource Recovery Park (Northern Landfill and Recycling Center), 1400 Baltimore Blvd. (Md. 140), Westminster  7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

Hoods Mill Landfill, 7901 Kabik Court, Woodbine 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Call 410-386-4550 during inclement weather for operating hours.

Municipal pickups

Westminster Mondays, Jan. 5, 12 and 26. After January, trees will be collected curbside during limb and brush pickup on every other Monday after the Bulk Trash Schedule available on westminstermd.gov or by calling the Information Desk at 410-848-9000. Trees can also be dropped off through March 31 at the Westminster Skatepark, at the corner of Tuc Road and Locust Street, behind City Hall. Trees can be piled next to the dumpster at the park.

Hampstead Mondays, Jan. 5 and Jan. 12. Please place your discarded tree at the curb on Sunday evening to ensure pickup.

New Windsor Wednesdays, Jan. 7 and Jan. 14.

Manchester Thursday, Jan. 8. Please have your tree out the night before and at the curb where you normally place your trash for pickup.

Sykesville Thursdays, Jan. 8 and Jan. 15

Taneytown Friday, Jan. 9. Please place your undecorated tree at the curb by 5 a.m.

Mount Airy Saturday, Jan. 10. Please have your tree by the curb by 6:30 a.m.

Baltimore County

Baltimore County Christmas tree recycling collection begins Monday, January 11, 2016. Collection will take place over a 2 week period. Baltimore County residents who wish to drop off Christmas trees may do so starting Saturday, December 26, 2015 at one of the counties three drop-off locations. Howard County

Howard Counties Merry Mulch your Holiday Tree Christmas Tree Drop Off and Recycling program will begin on December 26, 2015 and continue through the third week in January 2016.  Visit the Howard County website for drop off points.

 

Harford County

Harford County the Christmas Tree Recycling Program has been established since 1989. Over 90,000 trees have been turned in by county residents for recycling saving valuable landfill space. Christmas trees are ground into mulch along with other yard and garden trimmings at the 6-acre paved Composting Facility at the Harford Waste Disposal Center. Throughout the year, residents may visit the Composting Facility at 3241 Scarboro Road, Street, for three 30-gallon bags or cans of free mulch or compost. Residents must supply their own bags or 30-gallon trash cans. Larger quantities of mulch or compost are available for purchasing. This is a very popular program, so residents should call the at 410-638-3636 for availability.

 

Frederick

The City of Frederick Christmas Tree Drop Off and Recycling program will begin on December 26, 2015 and continue through January 31, 2016.  Visit the Frederick City website for drop off points.
