Well - I finally bit the bullet and stepped away from my company site. I learned a fair amount  blogging over the past 10 months and I finally realized that all my work was boosting the company site which was doing nothing for me personally. Its trial and error I must admit ,but through google maps and good photos embedded in the site  I'm starting to get noticed!

Now I'm motivated to start blogging about Nova Scotia again! Particularly Condos and Oceanfront related stuff. It all will  pay-off in the end. I got on average of one lead a day in the past few days based on my sites visibility due to the blogs on Active Rain!

Check it out by the way. It's  homesearchnovascotia.com

Its not finished yet but I'm getting closer.

It's designed to be a buyers agent site - I just have to add the projects in the specific areas and then the Oceanfront  props per area . It is a huge project but allready I'm getting feedback.

Stay tuned for the finished product.

You can set up your own blogs on Google, Yahoo and a other sites.  The problem is writing all the stuff that will attract interest.  You can participate in other websites like AR.  There are a lot of ways to get involved in the internet only using your time (which is valuable too) but little cash + it's fun!

Krista -Yes but the point is -- This gets traffic for me and me only . There is no way to search by landmarks that interest the average public,

Tony - Thanks for the encouragement!

Richard - It's all worth it in the end!

Bill - Thanks - Running around taking photos now . Hope to get a shot for each area . Time consuming for sure but wait til i'm done!

Hi Paul!  Nice site and you obviously have put a lot of work into it.  May I offer a couple suggestions?  Make yourself more prominent - besides your little tiny name in the header and the sidebar contact button (which I had to hunt for) - I don't see a way to contact you.  Also - the slideshow is great - but it takes a while to load.  Best of luck with your new site!

Paul- Looks good. The slide show does take a bit of time on high speed to load so I caution you about it if your clients are on anything slower. Good looking layout and I think you're on your way!

Best of luck,

Tina -

Scott-  I'm working on reducing the size of the pictures to  speed up the slide show loading.

I think they are big files themselves . I don't remember reducing them.

Congratulations on your Point 2 site! What a great step - generating traffic to YOUR OWN site. You are providing lots of great information for your buyers.

The slide show loaded fine for me - but there were only 4 pictures in it. Not sure if you had more before, when the others left their comments.

I would like to add one thing - your page list on the left side was a little confusing to me. Unless you the majority of your business as rentals, I am thinking you'd want that towards the bottom. Same with the calculator. Your contact information and your blog I think would rank a little higher.

Just my opinion - <G>

Paul - Congrats on the new site - having your own and promoting your self on a site that you own and control is somthing I believe in. I will have my webguy/hubby check out the potential for links, he will be in touch.

Thanks for the help. I'm taking e set of shots daily and targeting finishing by June 01/08.

Have a look and tell me what your husband thinks. I've been told I need to reduce my tags. I'm a little stuck there.
