Hawaii raises the smoking age to 21 starting Jan 1, 2016

Great move Georgie Hunter R(S) my 15 year old daughter and I were talking about this over diner tonight. She wondered why tobacco is even legal, I explained that the Government makes more money on tobacco than the tobacco companies and that is why they don't make it illegal. Good for Hawaii!

They banned smoking on Carmel Beach as well, my 2nd home. Why? More because smokers leave their nasty butts in the sand. And the beach cleanup crew would gather pounds of the stuff every time they cleaned. Butts get into the ocean, and sealife swallows them. Besides being unhealthy, it's just such a filthy habit because smokers are so thoughtless about their butts.

I find this interesting, my take is just raise the price of cigarette taxes and that will help more...

Same in here from last year: the state Senate approved anti-tobacco bills, including measures that would raise the smoking age in California from 18 to 21 and bar electronic cigarettes from restaurants, movie theaters and other public places where smoking is banned.

Georgie worked for me:)) when Bill Clinton raised it .50c per pack that is when I did some calculations.... 3 pack a day.... I thought it was a vacation:))Endre
