Latest on California's MLS's

 Northern California MLS,s are making changes. MLS Listings Inc., (formally RE Info Link then NCREX), has now joined forces with Quattro. Quattro is a group that was formed last year and includes San Francisco Association of Realtors, Bay Area Information Services Inc., and Metro List Services Inc. There are now over 57,000 agents who have data sharing within 19 counties. Alameda and Contra Costa counties have not gotten on board yet. The California Associaton of Realtors is moving forward with a Statewide MLS in hopes of giving agents complete access to the data for the whole state.  The individual MLS's will have the right to opt out of the Statewide MLS.

Agents in my town and the surrounding towns are fearful, the reality is that most agents will sell in the areas of which they have expertise. The brokers will no longer have to belong to multiple MLS's which is costly and agents will better serve their clients who are moving into another area by giving them good information and possibly find an agent to refer in order to help them with theri move.
