Is Winter a Good Time to Sell My House in Kitty Hawk?

By

Do you find yourself asking, is the timing right to put my house in Kitty Hawk on the market right here in the middle of winter? The answer is simple, yes. Unlike other areas, where home sales peak and fall with the ebb and flow of the school system, home sales in Kitty Hawk are not restricted by families looking to relocate. Often, busy professionals find it more convenient to shop for an investment property during the winter when traffic and vacationers do not get in the way. Winter shopping for homes is restricted by the weather back home which sometimes keeps the buyers trapped up north.

The graph below shows the number of homes sold in each month in Kitty Hawk from July 2014 thru July 2015. Winter sales in Kitty Hawk never really peaked and stayed pretty steady through April when sales began to pick back up for the spring boom. The chart records the actual date of closing, which is 4 to 6 weeks after the buyers initially looked at the property. While spring is obviously the best time to sell a house, winter can get the job done.
