What I am Doing for a Successful 2016 - SEO & PPC

Mortgage and Lending with Shop Reverse Mortgages

2015 has officially come and gone. Over the past month, I have pondered what I should do differently in 2016, as I feel every business can use improvement.

There are a few critical changes I will be making to Shop Reverse Mortgages and I wanted to share these changes with the ActiveRain community. If it helps benefit one person, then that is fantastic. :).

Investing into Digital Marketing: SEO & PPC

After much research, I decided to find and hire a SEO company. Miami is one of the most competitive markets in the country. So I figured if an SEO company can rank #1 for a competitive keyword (after all, they all say they can rank you Page 1 #1, but there can only be ONE!), they can likely help me in my competitive industry!  It is simply to time consuming for me to do this by myself and I must admit, I am certainly no SEO expert. My knowledge falls short at "blog often".

If you live in a non-competitive market, you can use Miami as it is extremely competitive to find your SEO company. I found this one ranking Page 1 #1 for Miami SEO Company. Sure, it will be a couple thousand a month but they have case studies, I called references, they are featured on major sites in the industry, etc. I was always worried about the horror stories but all signs point to this is not one of them. More expensive sure, but I know my money won't be wasted. They shared with me how they are different and it simply makes sense.

Pay Per Click is really expensive in my industry, some keywords cost over $50.00 a click. So I told them I wasn't interested in PPC. That was be trying to be a know it all after looking back at it. Again, just because I couldn't get the cost per click lower, doesn't mean they can't. They actually have a mortgage broker client that is in a different market and showed me the cost per lead. Not the cost per click. Can you believe that they were generated mortgage leads for $32.00!!!

The take-away from this post is to do solid, thorough research. Don't use past experiences to dictate the future. If so, you would likely never find a 2nd significant other because the first one just didn't work. That logic is flawed. Don't be cheap. Pay for the best you can afford. This can be wrapped up in a simple quote: "If you think an expert is expensive, wait until you hire an amatuer".

This is the year I am taking things to the next level and hope you do too!!

Hi Spirit Messingham , 2015 was the year I broke free from the typical employment. I was tired of making other peopel money and being screwed on commissions in some instances. Being an ethical person, I want to run my company differently. I tried doing SEO for a couple months but it is to time consuming to do that and try to grow the business. So 2016 will be the first "real" year in business as we have formed many partnerships. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Great, good luck with the new endeavor.  I started my own little PLLC 5 years ago and love it.  I too tried working for other people, had a Fortune 500 Sales job but it got to me.  It feels good to do well and make good money.  Best of luck.

It's your money, but I have found that these so called SEO service providers have no real estate or mortgage knowledge.  They plug in keywords they THINK will work but have no idea how your potential customers search or what they're looking for.

Hi David Barr , happy new year! You are correct, I've had many friends get burned. They actually have a case study of a mortgage broker in my industry in a different geographical location so I saw the data with my own eyes and the logic behind the campaign. That was my first concern that they would just "guess" what would work. I was pleasantly surprised when he opened the analytics account and showed me everything. Cost per click, impressions, leads generated, etc. They were all "buyer intention" types keywords so it is really no concern to me but use to be. To each their own, best of luck this year for you!!!
