I am a JERK - KEEPING POLITICS AND RELIGION OFF AR

By
Real Estate Appraiser with David V. Farrell Co.

OK, so I recently joined ActiveRain.  Then, I had a look around and was impressed.  I kicked the tires and looked under the hlood.  I found an amazing real estate group.  Then, I looked a little deeper and found a huge group of Bloggers with whom I disagree.  I focused on them and almost let them ruin my experience.  I posted nasty Blogs about people with whom I disagreed.  I made up groups to combat the people I felt were ruinng AR.

TODAY, I finally took a chill.  I realized that it was me who had the problem.  If people want to post right-wing crazy stuf - who cares?  If people want to post left wing garbage?  What's it to me?

From now on, I will utilize my time appreciating the best that AR has to offer and ignorig the people with whom I disagree.  I always tell everyone who knows me that I wish the US was more of a live-and-let-live society. Well, it turns out I got what I wished for at AR.  From now on, I'm here to read about and learn new things about real estate.

If you think AR is a good forum for political or religious discussions, I feel bad for you.

I'll be busy using all the great real estate tools AR has to offfer.

David

David......there is so much to learn from active rain.  Everyone has their own opinions and beliefs and I have learned a long time ago to live and let live.

This is a good post. Good attitude. If you do not agree with someone, just go on to the next post where likely there is something inspiring or educational or interesting. All the best.

Way to go, David!  There are many blogs that I don't agree with - I just pass them by!  Way too much other "good" stuff to let it get to you!

You made a wise choice because in the long run you were just hurting yourself. Now you can focus your energy on the good things.

Good Post!

I also have to admit that I was just enjoying messing with other people who had views I thought were nuts.  II thought it was funny.  I thought they were easy prey. generally unintelligent, fools.  Then I realized, the more I argued with them, the more I me became the unintelligent fool.

Great post David!

We could never understand why anyone cares to waste their time and energy in negative garbage.

David, we're all jerks on here.  :-)

There really is a lot of good RE stuff on AR and outside of these political discussions, I do read numerous blogs and walk away with insight.  And as you allude to, that's more important to us than discussing politics.

Hi David - I think one of the good things about Active Rain is the diversity.  If someones blog irritates you there is the option of voting by not reading it.  To be trite "the cream will rise to the top".  There are so many good, informative posts to concentrate on that we don't need to spend our time on those others.

Pam, you are a CLASS ACT!!!  Right after I post to your blog, in very mild disagreement, you respond with niceness to me.  We have a glut of overpriced homes in NY and a shortage of good people like you.

David - Pam is in Charlottesville....it's a breeding ground for ladies and gentlemen.  :-)

(though my 7 years there didn't do anything for me.  doh!)
