Got Crappy Stuff?

By
Real Estate Agent with ReMax Realtec Group

I wanted  to circle back to something...I think it's so important about the crappy stuff that can sufficate.
I'm talking about sustainability. And sustainability is about simplicity.

It reminds of the story I read when Steve Jobs called the newly appointed Nike CEO. When the new Nike CEO was named, Steve Jobs called him to congratulate him. (This presents an entirely new blog)

The Nike CEO asked, "Do you have any advice for me Steve?" (The NIKE CEO asked Jobs a question, another blogging opportunity)

Steve responded, "No. You will do great!"

There was a pause and Steve continued, "Nike makes some of the best product in the world. Product that you lust after. Absolutely beautiful, stunning product. But you also make a lot of crap. Get rid of the crappy stuff and focus on the good stuff."

Get Rid Of The Crappy Stuff
● What do you need to edit out of your business and world?
● What do you need to stop doing?
● What do you need to quit?
● What do you need to not even start? (that is a hard one for me)
It is easy to get sidetracked and distracted in this world of information and ideas, but remember, that those things don't pay the bills.

Implementation of the right things is what gets rewarded.

Implementation of the impactful things.

What would you do with advice like this from Steve Jobs, "Get rid of the crappy stuff and focus on the good stuff."

Happy New Year, Annette.  I absolutely love this post.  It is a perfect New Year post.  I love that line: "Get rid of the crappy stuff".  It is so true in business and in life that we need to purge the crappy (tangible and intangible) stuff.   Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for the greeting and  what a great image you are using now. Sometimes it takes a outside party, such as a coach, to point out the ideas we have fallen in love with and with some gentleness observe it is odoriferous.

Thanks, Annette, interesting topic, short and sweet.  Steve Jobs, is right... remove the crap.  I always believe you must start from within, when removing "crap" or changing yourself, first.  Get the right mindset started.

Annette... you may just have given me my motto for the year -- get rid of any and all crap in my life during 2016.

Simplicity....tends to be the best response to the things that challenge us.

Unfortunately, this is not a one time action, but one that requires vigilance. The incoming data pipeline carries way too much crap.

This weekend I noticed I keep a unread email from 2014. That suggests a PROBLEM.

Great blog and I can't wait to see your follow up ones!  That is some great advice, focus on the best products and not the crappy ones that don't do anything for your company.

Thanks Ryan.

Personally, I have heard myself explain to myself, "You can't measure that."  The consequence was adopting a resource hogging dependent that contributed nothing.

A reasonable red flag may be, "Can't measure that."
