The question is: Is it worth answering Internet Questions & Answers? Is it a waste of time or does it work? Depends usually is a safe answer.
Many times we get on a platform and there is a question a by buyer, or by a seller, or we think they are buyers or sellers and we decide to answer or choose not to answer the question. I generally take the position that it is a legitimate question and I choose to help out that person by giving them the answer to their question.
Well sometimes we get a response, either a thank you or a potential listing or a potential buyer representation. Then again there are times we get nothing. We at least hope for a ‘Thank You’, or a possible endorsement on the platform that we helped out.
Well some of us Internet Savvy Realtors, who are on many platforms get surprise emails, calls, or text messages just out of the blue.
Today was my day. I saw a call coming in from a private number, but I happened to be on the phone with another potential client. Needless to say I was hoping on a Voice Mail, not wanting to interrupt my call.
Well it turns out I received a very difficult to hear Voice Mail, luckily the phone number was clear. Turns out it was a potential seller or a potential lease landlord and possibly a land seller. Anyway I was thrilled, because the potential client shared with me, that I responded to a question he asked about four of five years ago on a platform that has merged with another platform and he appreciated the candid and good response I gave him. Normally I am very good at recalling when there has been a back and forth communication. In this instance I do not recall anything, but I was appreciative of the loyalty given to me by this person.
Needless to say tomorrow is a day for me to drive by the property, and do the equivalent of a Drive by BPO (Broker Price Opinion) as well as determine what the land value is to the other property as well as without being inside what I think it would be worth leasing it out?
Lots of things to do and lots of opportunities for a Realtor as well as a potential Seller or a potential Landlord. Now with that said, my original question is: is it worth answering questions by potentially unknown parties?
My answer is unequivocally: YES!! Many times we hope that someone reads our comments, our answers or our blog post. Here is a perfect example that being on the World Wide Web as a Realtor willing to help out might bring potential business. Even if it is many years after we offered our knowledge and expertise.
So if you are a beginner on the internet, do not always expect instant response. Sometimes it takes years but your effort might pay off.
Stay tuned of this development. Just on a side note this question came from Australia and the properties are in the coveted 90210 Zip Code of Beverly Hills, CA.
