Best Tips for Driving Traffic to your Real Estate Website

Real Estate Technology with IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM

Creating your real estate website is an exciting process. You carefully choose the look and craft the content, and then you send your beautiful new website out into the world wide web. But then what?  If you’re not driving traffic to your real estate website, what good is its elegant design and terrific listings?

Setting up your website is the first step to building a valuable online presence that creates more leads for you as a REALTOR®. But driving traffic to your website is just as important! Here are the best ways to drive traffic to your real estate website.

Make Sure Your Real Estate Website is Mobile Friendly

Technology has evolved rapidly in the last few years and the way we use the internet has changed a lot!  Instead of browsing the web from a desktop computer, more people than ever are using mobile devices to access the web. If you force your visitors to pinch and scroll their way around your site, they may give up and go elsewhere. Ensure that your website is comfortable to use on laptops, mobile phones and tablets.

Regularly Post to Your Real Estate Blog
One of the best ways to show the search engines that your website is active and legitimate is by regularly adding content, and a blog is a powerful way to do that!  Update your blog with relevant real estate articles and include keywords that apply to your business.  Search engines like Google and Bing will smile upon fresh content. Your keywords will help increase your chances of appearing in the search engine results.  To make this process even easier, choose a Realtor website solution that provides you with professionally written blog content on a regular basis.

Include Links to Other Pages on Your Website

When you write a blog post or content on your website, link to other posts or pages that your readers may find helpful. This is a great practice for SEO as well as for increasing time-on-site, conversion rates, and referral traffic.  Make it a habit to include 1 or 2 hyperlinks in each blog post directing readers to other posts they might find interesting.  This is an easy step that offers a lot of benefits!

Use Facebook and LinkedIn to your Advantage
Social media provides lots of opportunities to drive traffic to your website.  Make sure you include links back to your site in your profile or “About” page, in your photo descriptions, in the comments of your posts (where relevant), and in your milestones.  It’s always a good idea to post updates when you publish new blog content, too.

Keep Up Your Email Marketing

When you’re focusing on driving traffic to your real estate website, you may fall behind on your traditional marketing methods like email marketing. Email is a powerful tool with an excellent ROI, and even a moderately successful email blast can result in a significant uptick in website traffic. Keep up with your e-Newsletters and drip email campaigns; the links in your emails can drive people back to your website.  And you never know who will forward and share your email messages with their friends and family, driving even more traffic to your Realtor website! Try using a solution that offers email marketing, a CRM and your website all together to help streamline the process.

Leverage Your Email Signature

While we’re already on the topic of email marketing, why not let all those emails you send work harder on your behalf? Include a link to your website in your email signature, making it super easy for email recipients to visit your site with one click. A good email marketing platform will give you the opportunity to set up a customized email header and signature, which you can link to your website to gain more traffic.

Spread the Love and Comment on Industry Blogs

There are a lot of benefits to commenting on other industry blogs. It allows you to build relationships, establish yourself as a real estate thought leader, and spark conversation.

Sometimes, you can include a direct link back to your website for valuable “link juice” that search engines love. Some popular blog comment tools (like Disqus) automatically include a link to your most recent blog post. When commenting, remember to use your real name and offer as much information as possible to improve your digital footprint and drive more traffic to your website.

Stick Around on the Web

Building website traffic is a process, it doesn’t happen overnight. The longer you are in real estate and producing quality website content, the more likely you are to pop up in search results for all related keywords. It’s a good practice to create a website and start a blog, but keeping those activities going for years as opposed to months is what will make a big difference when it comes to your website traffic and quality leads.

There are many solutions available for real estate marketing and Realtor websites, but the best tool offers your CRM, email marketing, and Realtor website all in one.  Try IXACT Contact’s real estate CRM and marketing- including website- FREE for 5 weeks!

Great tips.  I set up a little kiosk at sites whom already have the traffic like Zillow.com.  It has allowed me another year in the top 1%, and I do not even have (or pay, or maintain) my own web site(s).  That is the neat thing about real estate, many different ways of accomplishing the same goal.

Have a good 2016!
